ABOUT US:

In order to meet the deficit for the qualified labor force in the health services, the Vocational School of Health Services has been decided to be established within our university, according to the Higher Education Executive Committee’s meeting held in 21^st November, 1989.

HISTORY:

The decision taken by our university senate in 6^th February, 1990 was discussed and accepted at the Executive Committee’s meeting held in 16^th March, 1990. In accordance to this, the “Nursery”, “Radiology” and the “Medical Documentation and Secretariat” programs started in the 1990-1991 academic year, the “Medical Laboratory” Techniques program started in the 1991-1992 academic year, the “Radiotherapy” program started in the 1992-1993 academic year, the “First and Emergency Aid” program started in the 1993-1994 academic year, the “Anesthesia” program started in the 1994-1995 academic year, the “Audiometry” program started in the 2008-2009 academic year and the “Nuclear Medicine Techniques” program started in the 2012-2013 academic year. The number of students accepted to these programs were stated in the 7/d-2 and 7h dams of the exchange legislations numbered 2547 to 2880.

The Vocational School of Health Services is proceeding the education of eight programs in total at present.

The mission of Dokuz Eylul University’s Vocational School of Health Services is to contribute to the development and strengthening of the health services in our country by educating technical staff beneficial to society, by means of the programs prepared according to the international professional criteria, oriented in scientific, technological and contemporary values and endowed with superior knowledge and skills.

VISION:

The vision of Dokuz Eylul University’s Vocational School of Health Services is to be a pioneer education institution in training nationally and internationally reputable, favored, productive, communicative, team spirited, skilled and responsible health technicians.

QUALITY POLICY:

The quality policy of Dokuz Eylul University’s Vocational School of Health Services is to be a pioneer education institution in international standards by means of the continuous improvement of education, training and research criteria within the framework of quality management system.

QUALITY TARGETS:

The quality targets of Dokuz Eylul University’s Vocational School of Health Services are;

• To hold at least one conference/symposium or a course of health and education a year, that would be attended by the students and academicians.
• To improve the website of the school continuously.
• To provide at least 10 hours of training a year for the school personnel.
• To hold at least one social activity a year, that would be attended by the personnel, academicians and the students of the school.
• To produce at least one academic project a year that would provide a source for the school platform works.
• To make statistical assessments of all the units.
• To make assessments of the scientific work of academic personnel.
